When KPMG moved to its new headquarters in Norway, the project was shaped by sustainability and reuse. Through solutions such as reupholstering, repairing and cleaning, @zinc_interiorarchitects and input interior were able to deliver a final result where over 50 percent of the furnishing was reused.

KPMG’s headquarters in Oslo combines circularity, sustainability and Nordic design. @zinc_interiorarchitects created the concept, which emphasises collaboration and flexibility. Input interior handled the reuse work and was responsible for all interior deliveries.

#OnThisDay, January 8 1929, designer Poul Kjærholm was born in Østervrå in southern Denmark. Originally trained as a carpenter, he continued his studies in furniture design in Hans J. Wegner and Jørn Utzon’s classroom at the Kolding School of Arts and Crafts. With a great fascination for steel, he began experimenting with the material by bending longer components. The simple design language became his main characteristic and the PK22 armchair the most famous example. Today, this classic is part of the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection in New York.
